A nice surprise was waiting for me on November 16 2005 : Baxter ! I was not supposed to keep a male from this litter but he was so special and he still is.
He is the most enthusiastic dog I've never seen. He surely is my Nemesis but I love him so much ! He is a very happy dog, always ready to play, he inherited an astonishing characteristic of his father ; he always wags his tail ! And between you and me, he is probably the best looking dog I've ever seen !
Baxter is my first home-bred Champion. His show career was short, winning 'Best of Breed' 8 times in 10 trials, with me as handler. He earned his Canadian Championship ( CH ) at only 9 months of age, and in his last Canadian show (Cornwall, On), he was awarded Best of Breed against 10 dogs (3 of them were already CH). With his fourth major, at 19 months, Baxter became American Champion on June 30 2007. He was entered only 6 times in the US, always in the 'Bred By Exhibitor' class ! He also made the last 10 selected dogs, out of 108, during the Canadian FCRSC specialty in August 2007 in Quebec City.
He earned his first obedience title ( CD ), at the age of 16 months, becoming my youngest dog to achieve that title. In October 2007 he went through a major surgery to rebuild a knee after a foolish accident. His complete recovery is phenomenal and now my B-Boy is back in training for his CDX and hunt tests.
On June 27 2008, he easily earned his Working Certificate ( WC ). Also, on July 11 2008, Baxter completed his obedience novice title in the USA ( CD ). At the 2009 US Specialty, handled by Waines Heikes, Baxter made the cut ! And in July 2009, he completed easily his Junior Hunter ( JH ) title.
In october 2009, Baxter made a Group 2nd placement at the Bible Hill (NS) show.
