Knightcastle

Back in 2006, planning my second litter with Nova, Leonie Galdermans and I decided to use a very promising young male, Thor (Can/Am/Dutch CH Flat Castle's Olympic Torch). What we did not know at the time is that Thor would take 'Best of Winners' at the US Specialty in June 2007! On July 9 2007, eight puppies were born, 5 males and 3 females, all in good health.

Thor is a direct descendant of the best British lines, particularly with his great grand-mother Maddy (Waverton Medeira), who gave to the breed the 2003 Top stud dog in England, Waverton Toby Ale, a liver dog. Thor completed his Canadian Championship in two week-ends in April 2007 and his American one in four consecutive trials on June 23 2007. Eight puppies were born on July 9, all healthy (5 males and 3 females)
.

Julius. In January 2008 the best thing happened to Julius: he came back from USA to live in Stoneham near Québec City. He wore the green collar. In his family, all the people have their names beginning with the letter 'J'. He is very happy there and is a wonderful family dog.

Lhassa. She wore the yellow collar. She was the adventurous girl. Everybody that came to my house fell in love with her. Pierre wants to go hunting with this highly birdy flatcoat. She earned a Junior Hunter qualification at 12 months . She lives in Montréal.

Loki. He belongs to Larry and Janice from Pensylvania, long time members of the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America. Larry can throw bumpers to Loki until they are both almost dead from exhaustion ! In this litter, he was my 'pink' boy and is as handsome as his father, Thor.

Marvel. He lives in Odessa (Ontario) with two other dogs. He has quite a personnality, he was the 'marine' collar. According to Carrie, he is a very fast learner and he is so eager to please, especially with kids. And he likes horses, but not the donkey across the street!

Modi. He wore the 'red collar' in that litter and he belongs to Philip Dewey from New York State. Philip is a long time flatcoat owner. Modi is very curious, he puts his head everywhere he can, sometimes with bad results! He is a fantastic hunter and is the first Knightcastle dog with a Senior Hunter ( SH ) title. Modi is also the second Knightcastle American Champion ( CH ).

Nisse. Karen and Ted from Georgetown waited a whole year to get Nisse (pronounce 'Nissa'). In this litter, she was my 'orange' girl. In September 2008, at the Canadian FCRSC Specialty, Nisse and Karen took 'Best of Opposite' in the 'Altered class'.

Tora. She lives in Nova Scotia with Andy Teas and is part of the 'Aqua Terra' breeding program, Andy's kennel. She wore the blue collar. She was also the best puppy for show and the best with working abilities, especially with ducks. In spring 2009, she completed her Novice title in Rally-O ( RN ) and on October 31 2009, Tora completed her Canadian Championship ( CH ) in Prince Edward Island. Tora was bred to Pen and on April 12 2010, she gave birth to a wonderful girl, Freyja.

Zéphyr. He is Alain's second flatcoat and like the first one, his name comes from a famous wind. Alain and his family like to sail, I am sure they found a new sailor in Zéphyr !
