Each litter is carefully planned, based on thoughtful consideration of the quality, the pedigree, accomplishments, hip, elbows, patellar (OFFA) and eye (CERF) clearances of both the Sire and the Dam, to produce sound puppies of correct type, with good working ability and a cheerful and outgoing personality. I have a litter on the ground only from time to time, mainly to fulfill my own requirments, not to accomodate the demands. When you become a part of the Knightcastle family, you are encouraged in every way possible to succeed and have a happy life with your new dog.

I use the 'Bio Sensor' program, developed by the US Army to stimulate new born puppies. All puppies are registered with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), micro-chipped and come with a 24 months health guaranteed and are solely sold on CKC non-breeding (for pet companion) or co-ownership agreements (for dogs part of my breeding program). No breeding rights are given and the sterilisation of the dog is obligatory. Puppies will leave for their pre-selected homes at around 9 weeks of age to live their new dog 's life. Getting a flat-coated retriever puppy from Knightcastle can take up to two years.

She was bred during the week of January 15 2012. This time I am going with something very special: the first North American combination of the Italian ‘Serilde’ bloodlines. Todd is the son of Serilde Qualcosadatenere (Kai) and Céleste is the daughter Serilde Velenocelestiale (Bowie). I am expecting stylish and graceful puppies, full of energy and tenderness at the same time, but also great working dogs and excellent representatives for the breed. Céleste has procuced two litters so far. From her first one with Swallowsflight Excaliburs Enigma (Exel) you can see in the rings or the fields the fantastic Jester, Raven, Balin and Holly. From her second litter with Fishercreek A Star Is Born, my little Forrest is already a Champion, a Best Puppy in Show winner and is on its way for his American Championship, defeating champion dogs. His brother Chevy needs only one point to be Champion.

Then one day, by pure chance, I stopped on Quill’s web page and fell in love with him. He is exactly the kind of dog I was looking for my girl. Quill is a very bold, affectionate Flatcoat with a strong will to please. He has been easy to train and is a passionate retriever on land and water. He loves playing with puppies and the other dogs and keeps his owner amused with his party tricks. In the show ring he has been very successful, being an easy dog to free stand, with impressive flowing movement. As for my Holly, she is a very soft and sensitive Flatcoat and has the best temperement of all the dogs I have. This breeding is the start of a new generation here at Knightcastle, I can’t wait !
